Much whistle blowing accompanied this maneuver and even though assisted by the original Queen Mary's Tyfon horn the Queen Elizabeth 2 won - on every count !
Capt. McNaught deferred to rank and allowed the QM2 to take the lead - he had the capability not to should he have chosen ...
